Training fro the Olympics

Last week Friday we started a presentation about the Olympics, he had to be in four groups then choose a sport to get more information on it. Today we had to finish it off and present it in-front of our class. Our 4 groups were Squad Goalz, The Islanders, Anonymous and PES Girls. I was in the Anonymous Team . I think that we had good information about our sport, teamwork, oral talking and a good audience. The things I think we need to improve on is speaking louder, having confidence, not reading text from the presentation and looking at the audience while talking.

Hiwi The Kiwi

Hiwi The Kiwi
Introduction
On the Thursday the 25th of august 2016. Hiwi the Kiwi came to our school. The came to teach us about fishing for the future.Their theme was all about fishing. When our school was settled they introduced themselves. There were 2 speakers that came. The old man’s name is Mark Minstrel and the old lady’s name is Chrissy.

Paragraph 1
Mark sang us a song. The song was called Kai Moana. The Song Kai Moana is the maori name for sea food. After the song we did a different song . It was about stuff we should do when we go fishing. Things that we need when we go on the boat is a ruler to measure the fish. We need Ice and Salt water. The reason why we need salt water is because when you caught a saltwater fish you but it in salt water which is the sea water. When you put salt water fish into fresh water it will rote straight away. Wet towel. You Will need a wet towel. The reason is, if you caught a baby fish or a mother fish you can use the wet towel to put it back in the sea. If you are not using a wet towel to put the fish back in the ocean you will make that fish die, because of it scale.

Paragraph 2

Our second lesson was if you go fishing in a boat you need to wear your lifejacket. If you are going fishing on a boat you should go with a bag to put rubbish you see floating. The reason why is because the new zealand residents are trying to save our seabirds which is known as the Petrel. When Petrel sees something that is floating on the sea they think that it is food, then dive into the water and eats it.   When we were nearly finish with the show Mark told us to go home that night and teach your parent and other adult. The other thing that was to teach adults was never ever go on a boat without a Life jacket. If your parent or the adults don’t listen to you, then tell them this story. Once their were three strong men, they were all good swimmers. One day they went fishing on a boat. They didn’t wear their lifejacket. They thought that they were tough and they are masters at swimming. The were fishing in this lake. There was a problem the boat speed was out of control so their was a curb the boat went on the curb. The boat was flying. The the three strong men fell of from the boat with-out wearing a lifejacket. On the next day, they found the boat and the lifejacket on the boat but there were no men.

Explanation template

Introduction
Boom! What happen to the sea i think it got polluted. We need to solve this big problem.

Info - Paragraph one
The main problem caused by water pollution is that it kills life that depends on these water bodies that is the humans. Dead fish, crabs, birds and seagulls, dolphins, and many other animals often wind up on beaches, killed by pollutants in their habitat (living environment).Pollution disrupts the natural food chain as well. Pollutants such as lead and cadmium are eaten by tiny animals.

Info - Paragraph two
Later, these animals are consumed by fish and shellfish, and the food chain continues to be disrupted at all higher levels.Eventually, humans are affected by this process as well. People can get diseases such as hepatitis by eating seafood that has been poisoned. In many poor nations, there is always outbreak of cholera and diseases as a result of poor drinking water treatment from contaminated waters.

Conclusion
If these continues to happen, the world would be in a lot of danger , because if people in the world eat sea creatures they can die because it has been poisoned from the water pollution.

The Lava Story

A long long time ago, as if we were in the days of the dinosaurs lived two proud mauga above and below the pristine Pacific ocean, (Hook/Grabber).These two mauga were deeply in love as if they were Ranginui the sky father and Papatuanuku the earth mother. However, Maungarei stood tall above the sea as if he was Sir Edmund Hillary and Rangitoto below the deep blue sea as if she was the earth's core.              It wasn’t all happy joy,joy because these two love birds were separated by liters and liters of Pacific ocean and could not see each other as if they were blinded by love.Image result for love birdsImage result for pacific oceans
Image result for mountains that has risen from the deep blue seaMaungarei and Rangitoto could not see each other but still communicated through song as if they were big blue whales. - When years past and past Ranginui was growing old and still no one rose up from the sea. Finally Papatuanuku heard and thought that the song was for her. SO Therefore Papatuanuku risen from  as if she was free from jail. Papatuanuku has risen from the deep blue sea but she did not see  Ranginui. Ranginui was singing the lava song so   Papatuanuku could see him.                    Ranginui was going into the sea and he was so heartbroken that he won't be with the one he loved and his dream to disappear. Ranginui
was in the deep blue sea he heard Papatuanuku singing the song that he used to sing. Finally he had risen from the deep blue sea. Ranginui was happy as if he won the lotto. Ranginui and Papatuanuku  dream is to grow old together and be with each other. When Ranginui and Papatuanuku were together they were so in love as if they were childhood  sweethearts.   Image result for lava storyImage result for lava story
